After multiple delays, Adivi Sesh’s biographical drama Major hit theatres around the country today. The parents of Sandeep Unnikrishnan have now given the movie a glowing review after watching it.

“It’s such a good reflection of what we have seen and suffered. It has made us forget all the bad memories. It’s a very well made film (in Telugu and Hindi) and I must congratulate the entire team of ‘Major’ from the bottom of my heart,” said late Sandeep’s father K Unnikrishnan in a video shared through the movie's official Twitter handle.

Unnikrishnan also said that his son’s life is a source of inspiration for millions and that the movie’s team deserve appreciation. He said the movie has gotten so many things right, such as the acting, direction, sound and editing.

Unnikrishnan also added that the movie’s makers had come into their home to copy photographs kept in their house and that seeing them on the movie screen brought back good memories.

Written by Adivi Sesh, he also essays the role of late Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred during the Mumbai attacks of November 2008. The movie has received mixed reactions from the critics following its release.

“Major is an underwhelming, unaffecting film that doesn't rise above the conventions of a staple army man's biopic. While the film's action sequences are shot on a grand scale, the writing and the performances leave a lot to be desired,” read the movie’s review on OTTplay.

Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the movie also features Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murli Sharma in important roles. Produced by by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and A+S Movies, the movie is now playing in theatres near you.
