The eagerly awaited sports drama Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn, is gearing up for an Eid 2024 release. After overcoming numerous challenges over the past four years, the film is finally set to hit the big screen thanks to the tireless efforts of Boney Kapoor (producer) and Amit Sharma (director). Today, the makers of Maidaan released a message, signalling its clash with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which stars the Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff.
Ajay Devgn took to Instagram to reveal the exciting news of Maidaan's Eid release through a heartfelt poster. He said, “Asli khiladi dikhenge, asli #Maidaan mein. Come, cheer and celebrate with us on 10th April, in cinemas only!” Lakhs of social media users have liked his post.
Reacting to the post, many social media users expressed that Ajay hinted at his readiness to face Bade Miyan Chote Miyan at the box office. This box-office clash can impact the collections of both films. Only time will tell where the future of the film lies.
Maidaan is significant as a tribute to Syed Abdul Rahim a legendary football coach who led India to success from 1950 to 1963. The film's captivating story, written by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah, showcases Rahim's unwavering spirit and his transformative impact on Indian football.

In 2019, it was rumoured that Keerthy Suresh would star opposite Ajay Devgn in Maidaan. However, she later decided not to take on the role. Open Magazine claimed that the decision was made mutually between Suresh and producer Boney Kapoor, with concerns that she seemed too young for the part. Suresh's team responded that they were working on her schedule, suggesting her departure may have been due to scheduling conflicts. Later, Priyamani Raj was cast as Devgn's wife in the film.
