Mai new stills: Sakshi Tanwar goes from meek to ruthless mother in upcoming Netflix series

It's been more than a year since Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma's Clean Slate Filmz announced the forthcoming Netflix series, Mai. The show features Sakshi Tanwar in the lead role, and now the streaming platform has shared a few stills on the occasion of Women's Day 2022. The photos feature the leading actor, along with Raima Sen and Wamiqa Gabbi, who play supporting roles in the series.

Talking about Mai Sheel (Tanwar), a gentle 47-year-old wife and mother, becomes unwittingly embroiled in a network of white-collar crime and dirty politics, plunging her into a rabbit hole of violence that irrevocably alters her and the world she lives in.

The actor plays a devastated mother who uncovers the culprits responsible for her daughter's terrible murder and transforms from meek to ruthless in order to uncover the truth.

Mai also features Vivek Mushran, Prashant Narayanan, Seema Pahwa, and others in supporting roles. Atul Mongia is the showrunner and has directed episodes along with Anshai Lal. Amita Vyas and Tamal Kumar Sen have co-written the series with Mongia.

The streaming date for Mai has yet to be announced, but it's likely to premiere later this year. With this series, Tanwar will be making her Netflix debut, and her fans can't contain their excitement about seeing the actor in a very hard-hitting role.
