Pakistani actress Mahria Khan, popular for television shows such as Humsafar, Bin Roye and Neeyat got married for the second time recently. She tied the knot with entrepreneur Salim Karim on October 1 in a beautiful ceremony in Pakistan. The actress took to Instagram to share the news of her wedding and posted a video of her walking down the aisle with Azlan, her son from her first marriage with actor-filmmaker Ali Askari.

The pictures and videos from Mahira’s wedding to Salim have gone viral and seems to be all that anyone is talking about. The actress has now taken to Instagram again, to pen a heartwarming note for her mother for helping with the pre-wedding festivities.

A peek inside Mahira Khan’s pre-wedding festivities

In the post, Mahira shared a series of pictures from her pre-wedding festivities. In the caption, she spoke about her mother's strength, love, and courage, and for being an integral part of her celebrations. “My mother had one wish… to start the wedding with a dua. My beautiful Ama, who is in a wheel chair - one would think she can’t do much - but really, she can do everything and anything. She sat and managed the decoration downstairs, the table, the moving around of furniture anddd she was ready dot on time.. P.S I took a bud of the motia and put it in my baali before going down.. for my Nani and Dadi,” Mahira wrote.

In the first picture, Mahira is seen in a white and golden ensemble, with red lips, pink blush and a sleek hairdo. In the next two photos, she is seen wearing a beautiful, intricately embroidered kurta, styled with a gold churidar and a lace-coated dupatta. In the last three pictures, Mahira is in an orange ensemble with green lace on the borders. The actress wore green bangles, hoop earrings and red lips to go with the bright ensemble.

Netizens flooded the comment section of the post, praising Mahira for her simplicity and honouring traditions. One user wrote, “I wish we can bring back the simplicity, for weddings especially .. my nani used to pick a fresh bud of motia from her garden to wear everyday in her balii miss her so much.” Another wrote, “The detail of the motia in honor of the most important women in your life is really tugging at my heartstrings.”

Mahira had earlier posted the pictures from her wedding on her social media handle. She wore a Faraz Menon-designed shimmery white lehenga with statement jewellery while walking down the aisle.
