Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who will soon headline the web series on Netflix, has revealed today that she was a patient of depression after she faced backlash for her performance in Raees. Her mental health condition severed when her dating rumours started swirling on social media, especially after both the young stars were caught smoking together.
As per a report published in Hindustan Times today, “Mahira Khan has opened up about her mental health struggle and being diagnosed with manic depression by a psychiatrist. She learned about it, especially after stepping into Bollywood with the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees, and the 2017 incident, where pictures of her smoking with actor Ranbir Kapoor emerged online.”
She even recalled the time when Pakistani actors were banned in India. She said, “I had finished the film (Raees) and everything was going fine and then suddenly this attack (Uri attack) happens. Politically everything gets messed up. I was not scared, but I was threatened. Constant tweets, in fact, I would get calls, and very scary ones."

The upcoming series 'Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo' is the first Pakistan-themed original. The upcoming series is an official adaptation of Farhat Ishtiaq’s Urdu-language novel of the same name and revolves around the protagonists Sikandar and Liza who meet in Italy. Variety reports, Sikandar is a Harvard law student who is forced to distance himself from others due to an unexpected life-changing event. This incident is bound to leave a lasting impact on the viewers and make them interpret life differently, as per the statement by Netflix.
