Sarkaru Vaari Paata was Mahesh Babu's first theatrical release in almost two years. The fact that the star was returning to action in an out-and-out mass avatar was a good reason for all his fans to rejoice. Though the film, that hit theatres on May 12, may not have matched up to their expectations, it was a paisa-vasool experience purely for Mahesh's screen presence and comic timing alone. The film reminded many of the ease he showcased in films like Okkadu and Pokiri in the past.

Keerthy Suresh paired up alongside Mahesh Babu for the first time in her career while the likes of Subbaraju, Nadhiya, Samuthirakani, Tanikella Bharani and Vennela Kishore too essayed important roles in the film. Naga Babu, in a brief role, played Mahesh Babu's on-screen father. The film, jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers, 14 Reels Plus Entertainment and GMB Entertainment, was an above-average fare for all the parties involved. Today, the film completed its 100 day run in theatres.

Yes, you heard it right! In times when even a 50 day run is unheard of, Sarkaru Vaari Paata finished 100 days in two direct centres - Mourya Theatre in Gopalapatnam and Krishna Mahal Deluxe in Chilakaluripet. Despite the mixed responses for the film, Sarkaru Vaari Paata is only second to RRR in terms of collections in Telugu cinema in 2022. The film gave a much-needed push to the career of writer-director Parasuram Petla after a success like Geetha Govindam.

S Thaman had scored the music for the film that had many chartbusters - Kalaavathi, Ma Ma Mahesha and Penny, to name a few. R Madhie had cranked the camera for the film while Marthand K Venkatesh was the editor. Anantha Sriram had penned the lyrics for all the numbers in the action entertainer. Murari Vaa, a song that was edited out of the film at the time of release, was included a few weeks into its theatrical run. The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
