Guntur Kaaram marks Trivikram’s third collaboration with Mahesh Babu after Khaleja and Athadu
Mahesh Babu, who worked hard to wrap up Guntur Kaaram by the end of December, is a relieved man now, as the film is all set to open big on January 12 globally. His third collaboration with Trivikram has him teaming up with the likes of Sreeleela, Meenakshii Chaudhary, Ramya Krishna, Jayaram. He discussed many of his memorable experiences at Guntur Kaaram’s pre-release event.
“It was Trivikram’s idea to host the event in Guntur and I immediately said yes. I am genuinely happy to return to my roots. Trivikram is a special person in my life and a family member. Its awkward to praise a family member at a public event. The kind of support he gave me in the last two years is unparalleled, I will never forget it..There’s a magic in my performance whenever I am in his films,” he said.
The star recollected how their journey began with Athadu and the magic continued in Khaleja. “You’ll witness a new Mahesh Babu in Guntur Kaaram, all thanks to Trivikram. I just love him. I’m sure that I was my producer’s favourite hero, I could see happiness in his face as he watched the rushes. He took good care of me and I hope to work in many great films with their banner.”
He expressed happiness about a Telugu-speaking heroine like Sreeleela tasting success in the industry. “She is one of the most hardworking and dedicated actresses I have worked with. The entire team is very fond of her. Dancing with her was a surreal experience, it was quite a challenge to match up to her. I hope she enjoys her work and has a glorious career ahead.”
Apparently, Meenakshii Chaudhary didn’t think twice about saying yes to her role. “She’ll be seen in an extended special appearance and we’re grateful that she was part of the film.” Mahesh stated he’s quite fond of Thaman and referred to him as a brother. “When asked him to come up with Kurchi Madathapetti, any music director would’ve made a fuss, but he was so agreeable. It will be be a blast in theatres,” he added.
On entering his silver jubilee year in the industry, Mahesh mentioned. “I can’t believe this is my 25th year in films, the love only keeps growing every year. I don’t know how to thank my fans. Sankranthi has worked well for me and dad. It won’t change much this time too. This feels new now because my dad (Krishna) isn’t around anymore. I always waited for his call about the box office records.”
“All the films, efforts are for my father. Now that he isn’t with me, my fans are my mom, dad and family,” he signed off. After Guntur Kaaram, Mahesh Babu commences work on SSMB29, an action adventure to be directed by SS Rajamouli and written by Vijayendra Prasad.
