Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's upcoming movie Guntur Kaaram is reeling under several issues, hampering its progress on multiple levels. Amid all the production issues, the speculations were rife that it won't be ready for release during the Sankranti festival as announced earlier. However, Mahesh seems unfazed by such speculations and production uncertainties.
During a media event, he seemed confident of completing the movie in time for the festival release. "It (Guntur Kaaram) will come out during Sankranti and you will all be happy," Mahesh told the media.

For the uninitiated, Guntur Kaaram is written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Earlier, the actor-director duo gave big hits like Athadu (2005) and Khaleja (2010). Even though Khaleja, was not an instant hit like Athadu, the movie has gained a cult following over the years. As Mahesh and Trivikram were reuniting a decade later, naturally the expectations were high for the project.
However, the production of Guntur Kaaram has hit multiple snags since it went on the floors. The shooting has been delayed and the cast and crew have undergone significant changes, the scenes have been scrapped, and the script is seemingly being reworked endlessly. Pooja Hegde was the first choice to play the female lead . She was later replaced by Sreeleela.
The buzz is Mahesh is not happy with the way things are going with the production. Earlier, there were also rumours about the filmmakers contemplating replacing the movie's composer Thaman S. However, Thaman himself rubbished the speculations, terming them as baseless rumours. However, he acknowledged that there were a few delays but argued that it was not something unheard of in the film industry.
It's a matter of concern when the project headed by the stars of Trivikram and Mahesh's statures is reeling under such uncertainty. According to reports, Trivikram has not been able to give his full attention to the project as he is also involved with writing speeches for Tollywood star Pawan Kalyan's political rallies.
