Marvel fans have been eagerly waiting to see Mahershala Ali essay the role of hardcore vampire hunter,Blade. Ali too seems to be sharing the excitement, especially after his unexpected cameo in the recent MCU film, Eternals.

Although his character was still in the early stages of development, Ali nonetheless did not hold back in expressing the thrill he felt saying “I’m excited to get going and do more.”

He also mentioned how grateful he was at being a part of the MCU, which he calls one of the biggest in the film industry.

The Marvel comics superhero Blade, also known as Eric Brooks, is a character who hunts and kills vampires. Being half-vampire himself, Blade possesses several powers and abilities of the monsters, without most of their weaknesses.

In the film adaptation of the comic, the character was played by Wesley Snipes. There was also a short lived TV series based on the character as well.

The news of Ali playing the titular role in the upcoming Blade reboot film was announced at the 2019 comic book convention in San Diego. The reboot’s team includes Stacy Osei-Kuffour, a writer on the Watchmen series, and filmmaker Bassam Tariq.
