Maharaja, the 50th film of Vijay Sethupathi, succeeded in impressing both the audiences and critics alike. The action thriller, which is written and directed by Nithilan Swaminathan features the National Award-winning actor in the titular role. Anurag Kashyap, the popular Bollywood filmmaker played a pivotal role in the film. After its highly successful theatrical run, Maharaja is now gearing up to have its OTT release soon. Maharaja on OTT – When and Where to watch the film?
As per the recent updates, it has been confirmed that Maharaja is gearing up to have its OTT release on Netflix. The Vijay Sethupathi starrer is confirmed to stream on the famous OTT platform from July 12, 2024. The exciting update was confirmed by the streaming platform with a social media post, recently. The Nithilan Swaminathan directorial will stream on Netflix from Friday, July 12, at midnight. The action thriller will be available for streaming in five languages, including the Tamil original, and the dubbed Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi versions.
Maharaja – Plot, star cast, and crew
The action thriller revolves around the titular character Maharaja, a barber by profession who lives with his daughter Jyothi after his wife was killed in an accident. Jyothi was protected by a metal dustbin in the accident, which saved her from death. The father-daughter duo develops a deep emotional connection with the dustbin, and names it ‘Lakshmi’. Later, Maharaja visits a police station to report a robbery and reveals that ‘Lakshmi’ has been stolen. What happens next forms the plot of Maharaja.

Vijay Sethupathi plays the titular character Maharaja in the film, while Anurag Kashyap appears as the lead antagonist Selvam. The movie, which is co-written by Raam Murali, features a stellar star cast including Sanchana Namidass, Mamta Mohandas, Natarajan Subramaniam, Abhirami, Bharathiraja, Divya Bharathi, Singampuli, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, and others in the supporting roles. Dinesh Purushothaman is the director of photography. B Ajaneesh Loknath composed the music. Philomin Raj handled the editing. Maharaja is produced by Passion Studios, The Route, and Think Studios.
