Nitish Bhardwaj had refused to comment on his divorce with Smita Gate
Actor Nitish Bhardwaj, best remembered as Mahabharat’s Lord Krishna, has filed an FIR against his ex-wife Smita Gate. He has alleged mental harassment and unruly behaviour. The actor submitted the complaint on Wednesday, February 14. Smita is currently Additional Chief Secretary at the MP Human Rights Commission in Bhopal.
The FIR
Nitish, according to a report on Free Press Journal, filed a complaint in Bhopal. He approached Commissioner of Police, Harinarayanachari Mishra to submit the complaint against his ex-wife Smita. He has alleged that he has not been able to meet their 11-year-old twin daughters Devyani and Shivranjani. He has alleged that Smita keeps changing schools of their twin daughters, thus obstructing access to them. The actor has appealed to the Bhopal CP to intervene in the matter. Investigating officer Phalguni Dixit has been assigned the case, the commissioner confirmed.
On their divorce
Nitish and Smita had mutually filed for divorce in 2018 at Mumbai family court. The same was finalized in 2022.
The wedding
Nitish and Smita got married in 2009. The couple met through mutual friends. They decided to part ways after 12 years of their wedding. The two filed for divorce in the Mumbai Family Court in September 2019. Nitish refused to comment on the reason behind their divorce. The case of which parent gets their twin daughters’ custody is still pending in court.
