Sai Deodhar is all set to be seen as a protective mother in the upcoming Hindi original drama series, Maeri. The series will be released on December 6 on ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium). The trailer shows Tara (Sai Deodhar) trying her best to seek justice for her daughter who was gang-raped. Ahead of the release, the makers dropped a new poster of Maeri.

On November 29, ZEE5 shared a poster of Maeri. It shows Sai Deodhar as mother Tara Deshpande and her daughter Manasvi (played by Tanvi Mundle). She is consoling her daughter while the latter breaks down in tears as she is gang raped by some youths. The background pictures show Tara and her family going through difficult time as their daughter is suffering from the trauma.

Sharing the poster, the streaming platform captioned it, "Tara—Fueled by revenge and a mother’s love, she will stop at nothing to claim justice. #Maeri premieres 6th December only on #ZEE5."

Sai Deodhar on her role in Maeri

Talking about her role in Maeri, Sai told IANS, “Playing Tara Deshpande has been an incredibly intense and emotional journey for me. Tara is a mother who is pushed to her limits by an unimaginable tragedy, and her quest for justice becomes both her strength and her burden."

She also added that she is thrilled to be a part of this powerful story and to bring Tara’s story to life. The actress can’t wait for audiences to watch the show and experience the thrilling twists and deep emotional layers it offers.

On the other hand, Tanvi Mundle added that when she first heard the story of Maeri, she was immediately captivated. "The story is so emotionally powerful. Manasvi's journey is one of personal growth, where she learns to deal with the complex emotions of loss and discovery," she said.

Producer Sachinn Darekkar on Maeri

Sachinn Darekkar said that Maeri is a revenge drama series that intertwines suspense, human relationships, and complex personal conflicts, focusing on the intricate bond between a mother, father, and daughter—each struggling with their own truths and the consequences of their choices.

He further described, "The story of 'Maeri' is not just about vengeance—it's about the raw emotions that come with loss, love, and the determination to fight when everything seems to be against you.”

Meanwhile, Maeri follows the harrowing journey of Tara Deshpande, a mother who is shattered when her daughter Manasvi is brutally assaulted by a group of influential youths. As the justice system fails to deliver justice, she takes matters into her own hands, embarking on a dangerous and secret quest for revenge against powerful criminals.
