Maeri starring Sai Deodhar and Tanvi Mundle will focus on a mother's journey, seeking justice for her daughter.

ZEE5 is all set to release a new series, Maeri. Starring Sai Deodhar, Tanvi Mundle, and Sagar Deshmukh, the series will be released on December 6. Sai plays the protective mother, Tara Deshpande Sagar Deshmukh the husband Hemant, Tanvi Mundle the daughter Manasvi, and Chinmay Mandlekar the grizzled ACP Khandekar in Maeri. Ahead of the release, the makers shared a new poster of Tanvi as the daughter Manasvi.

On November 30, ZEE5 shared a new poster of Maeri featuring Tanvi Mundle. She will be seen playing the role of daughter Manasvi of Sai Deodhar's character, Tara Deshpande. The poster shows Manasvi suffering from trauma as she has been gang-raped by a group of powerful youths. Her mother tries hard to emotionally support her daughter. Will Manasvi be able to overcome the struggle?

Sharing the new poster, the streaming platform captioned it, "Manasvi—Haunted by a tragedy, struggling to rebuild her life. #Maeri premieres 6th December only on #ZEE5."

Maeri plot

Maeri follows a mother who reaches her breaking point after witnessing a horrific attack on her beloved daughter Manasvi by powerful youths. They seek justice from the law and police. However, it is not enough. As the legal system falls short, Tara goes all out and takes things into her own hands to seek justice for her daughter.

Tara deals with a ruthless police officer, her own moral limits, and her family's strained relationships. Will Manasvi get justice? We will get to know once it releases.

Sai Deodhar speaks about her role in Maeri

Speaking about her role in Maeri, Sai told IANS that playing Tara Deshpande has been an incredibly intense and emotional journey for her.

She further added, "Tara is a mother who is pushed to her limits by an unimaginable tragedy, and her quest for justice becomes both her strength and her burden." She also added that she is thrilled to be a part of this powerful story and bring Tara's story to life.

Expressing her excitement, the actress said that she can't wait for the audience to watch the show and experience its thrilling twists and deep emotional layers.

Tanvi Mundle on her role in Maeri

Tanvi Mundle also shared her experience of working in Maeri She said, “When I first heard the story of Maeri, I was immediately captivated. The story is so emotionally powerful. Manasvi's journey is one of personal growth, where she learns to deal with the complex emotions of loss and discovery.”

Meanwhile, as per producer Sachinn Darekkar, Maeri is a revenge drama series that combines suspense, human relationships and complex personal conflicts, focusing on the complex bond between a mother, father and daughter — each grappling with their own truth and the consequences of their choices.

Produced and directed by Sachinn Darekkar, Maeri also stars Sagar Deshmukh, and Chinmay Mandlekar. It will be released on ZEE5 on December 6. You can also watch it with your OTTplay Premium subscription.
