Directed by Vaali Mohan Das, Madraskaaran is set to star Shane Nigam and Niharika Konidela in lead roles
Malayalam youth star Shane Nigam’s Tamil debut film, Madraskaaran , has officially kickstarted shooting from today (February 14). The makers of the film took to their social media pages to share the exciting news. Along with the latest update, the makers shared the first-look image of the lead stars – Shane Nigam and Niharika Konidela – announcing that the shoot of the film has officially commenced. The image features the lead actors, all smiles, and leaning against each other.
Touted to be a comedy thriller, the film is directed by Vaali Mohan Das of Rangoli fame. This film would be Niharika's sophomore Tamil project after Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Gautham Karthik.
According to director Vaali, Madraskaaran revolves around the consequences of a minor ego conflict between two individuals. Kalaiyarasan plays the other male lead in the movie. Additionally, the film also features Pandiarajan, Karunas and Aishwarya Dutta who will be playing key roles. The camera for the film is cranked by Prasanna, while the music is scored by Sam CS.

When the film was announced earlier, the makers released a video where Shane Nigam is seen imitating dialogues of actors Shivaji Ganesh, Rajinikanth and Vijay in front of the director. However, the confused director and his team did not appreciate his efforts, and the actor announced that he was leaving for Kochi. But when Shane Nigam says, ‘Ithellam velakku aavathu’ the director is impressed, who confirms bringing the Kumbalangi Nights star on board for the project. Later, the actor asks if the film has any item song, cliched tragic romance, funeral dance, or machine gun fight scene, poking fun at the typical Tamil film tropes. When the team members reply that this film has none of these cliche elements, he immediately says yes to the project.
