Rajisha Vijayan and Sharafudheen’s comedy Madhura Manohara Moham has begun streaming on a relatively new platform
Months after its theatrical release, costume designer-turned-filmmaker Stephy Zaviour’s debut directorial, Madhura Manohara Moham has finally hit a streaming platform on August 22. While there were rumours of several leading platforms bagging its OTT rights, the movie is now streaming on a low-key platform, surprising many in the industry.
For a Malayalam movie, this really shouldn’t come as a surprise; given that films such as Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramoodu’s The Great Indian Kitchen first began streaming on Neestream, before it was picked up by Amazon Prime Video. The reverse has also happened with movies such as Anoop Menon’s Padma, which actually began streaming on Amazon Prime Video, later being available on Manorama Max.
When and where to watch Madhura Manohara Moham
Madhura Manohara Moham, which is a family entertainer, can now be streaming on HR OTT, which had also bagged the streaming rights for Gautham Vasudev Menon and Aswin Jose-starrer Anuragam last month.
The Rajisha-starrer went on to gross close to Rs 10 crore at the box office, helped by the fact that there were only limited Malayalam releases during its theatrical run. The movie, which is set in Pathanamthitta, revolved around a proud Nair family and how the eldest brother Manu, essayed by Sharafudheen, is shocked to find that his sister Meera, who is considered the more responsible one, is in love with a man from another religion. After Manu, his mother and their family friends set out to know more about the man, they stumble upon more secrets about Meera that shake the foundation of their family that they so highly value.
Reasons to watch Rajisha Vijayan’s Madhura Manohara Moham
One of the reasons Madhura Manohara Moham makes for a good watch with the family on OTT is because of its comedy, which pokes fun at the archaic values. Sharafudheen, Aarsha Baiju, Vijayaraghavan, Bindu Panicker and Rajisha are also on top form in this movie, which has a string of cameos from actors such as Saiju Kurup and Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju.
