Here’s the complete list of Malayalam releases of week 3 of June 2023
This week might not have any big releases in Malayalam, but that doesn’t mean it will not spring up any surprises. Some of the biggest hits this year have been family entertainers and this Friday, Rajisha Vijayan and Sharafudheen star in Madhura Manohara Moham, which promises to be an all-out laugh riot.
Apart from the movie, it’s the week of thrillers – both on OTT as well as theatres. Vijay Babu’s Pendulum, Indrans’ Vamanan and Anarkali Marikar’s Amala are some of the other releases on various platforms this week. Here’s the full list of Malayalam movies this week to choose from, for your weekend watch.
Madhura Manohara Moham
Release platform: Theatre
Costume designer-turned-filmmaker Stephy Zaviour’s directorial debut features a host of talented actors including Rajisha Vijayan, Sharafudheen, Arsha Chandini Baiju, Bindu Panicker, Saiju Kurup and Vijayaraghavan. Set in Pathanamthitta, the film revolves around a mother and her three children and is a family entertainer told through humour.
Amala
Release platform: Theatre
The suspense thriller, starring Anarkali Marikar and Appani Sarath, is helmed by debutant Nishad Ibrahim. The film reportedly follows a police officer who is tasked with solving a series of murders in the city.
Pendulum
Release platform: Theatre
Vijay Babu, Indrans, Anumol and Ramesh Pisharody star in this thriller, which revolves around a psychologist who delves deep to unravel a mystery and concludes that lucid dreaming could be the key to helping him change his past and rectify his future.
Vamanan
Release platform: Manorama Max and OTTplay Premium
Indrans plays a homestay manager in this psychological thriller, helmed by AB Binil. After he and his family move to a village in the middle of nowhere to look after an abandoned mansion, he begins to see unexplained incidents at the house. How he decides to solve the mystery himself form the plot.
Charles Enterprises
Release platform: Amazon Prime Video
Ravi Kumarasamy, who suffers from a rare form of night blindness, finds it hard to hold down a job. But after a stranger offers him good money for a Ganesha idol that belongs to his mother, Ravi must decide whether to go ahead and steal it, or find another way out. Balu Varghese, Urvashi and Kalaiyarasan play the leads in the film, helmed by debutant Subhash Lalitha Subrahmanian.
