The duo interacted through a live Instagram session which lasted for around 30 minutes,
Madhavan, a still from Ghajini and Suriya
One of the attractions of the Tamil version of Madhavan's Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is the presence of Suriya in a brief, but crucial cameo. The movie which marks the former's directorial debut has opened to positive reviews from various quarters. The duo has interacted through a live Instagram chat for around half-an-hour, leaving film lovers elated.
The video began with both of them showering praises on each other. Suriya said that he's proud to see Madhavan, his friend of over 25 years, as a director today with an important film.
He added that he's reminded of a dialogue from his movie Jai Bhim, which stressed on the importance of making use of one's talent for the benefit of others. "That's exactly what you have done with your craft," said Suriya to Madhavan, adding, "I know what you have gone through to achieve this feat. You have made an international film about Nambi Narayanan."
Suriya went on to say that he has always been following Madhavan's career and that he has been keen to learn many things from the latter with regard to work-life balance. Madhavan seemed quite moved and requested Suriya not to make him cry as he felt emotional.
In his turn, Madhavan, too, praised Suriya for his continuous hard work and thanked him for being his good friend for a long time. He also recollected how he missed doing Ghajini which eventually was lapped up by Suriya.
He said, "Somehow, I was not convinced with the latter half of Ghajini when it was narrated to me. But I was happy when I knew that you were going to do it. I was impressed with the way you performed in Kaakha Kaakha, and had immense confidence about you pulling off the movie. Your journey post Ghajini was historical; it was your career planning which inspired me."
