Madha Gaja Raja, the Tamil film which released for Pongal, has collected Rs 33 crore so far in India nett collection in its one week of theatrical run. The film stars Vishal as the protagonist and is helmed by filmmaker Sundar C.

Featuring Vishal in the lead role, Madha Gaja Raja is a commercial potboiler which hit big screens on January 12. The film had opened to positive reception upon its release, and had huge anticipation given it is releasing after 12 years.

Madha Gaja Raja has collected Rs 33 crore within one week of its release. Unlike many of the recent released, Madha Gaja Raja released only in Tamil, and has become highest grossing Pongal films this time. Directed by Sundar C, the film also stars Santhanam, Anjali and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.

One of the main highlights of the film which catapulted it to success is Santhanam’s comedy. The actor, who has taken up to playing lead roles, plays a comic sidekick in Madha Gaja Raja. Late veteran actors Manivannan and Manobala also appear in the film, as one of the highlights of the film.

Madha Gaja Raja story

Madha Gaja Raja is about a young man who takes up to resolve the personal problems of his friends after they all reunite at a wedding in their teacher’s household. However, after he gets to know a business tycoon in Chennai has messed up the lives of two of his friends, he takes it upon himself to face him. Sonu Sood plays the antagonist.

The film’s OTT partner has not yet been confirmed. With music by Vijay Antony, Richard M. Nathan has shot the film and Praveen KL, NB Srikanth have edited the film. Gemini Film Circuit has produced Madha Gaja Raja.
