Avinash Tiwary is currently enjoying all the positive reviews for his film Madgaon Express. It was refreshing to see the actor in the comedy space, a genre that he hadn't attempted before. Interestingly, Avinash is happy that Kunal Kemmu and Ritesh Sidhwani presented him with an opportunity where he could go and enjoy himself. The actor told Mid-Day that people usually think that actors who play intense characters are 'serious' actors. However, Avinash doesn't care much about the labels. Wondering why? Let's find out...
In an interview with a tabloid, Avinash Tiwary revealed how his character in Madgaon Express was much different than the ones he played in the past. The actor stated that his character in Kunal Kemmu's film is close to how he is in real life.
"It’s always the case—people who do intense parts are considered serious actors. I haven’t cared much about labels because nobody wanted to put even the label of an actor on me. But I’ve been acting for so many years. Now, I want to do more light-hearted films," said Avinash.
Avinash further revealed when he and his co-stars heard the narration of Madgaon Express, they fell off their chairs. The actor said even when he read the film's script, he was laughing. And that is what made Avinash believe in Madgaon Express' potential. "While we were performing, we weren’t sure if the jokes were landing or not. But we relied on Kunal, who had such clarity," he added.
Meanwhile, Madgaon Express will drop on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run ends. Once the cinematic run ends, people will be able to watch this comic caper on the streaming platform. Until then, it is available to watch on the silver screen.
