The wait is over. After more than a year after its theatrical release, Sibiraj's mythological thriller Maayon has finally dropped on Amazon Prime Video and is now streaming on the platform. The film, which is directed by N Kishore, has Tanya Ravichandran as the leading lady. Taking to his social media handle, the film's lead actor Sibiraj wrote, "#Maayon now streaming on @PrimeVideoIN! Do watch it and give your valuable feedback dear friends (sic)."
Why did the OTT premiere get delayed by more than a year?
Maayon released in theatres worldwide on June 24, 2022 and opened to mixed reviews. However, the film's OTT release got massively delayed so much that it's been more than a year. The reason, however, has not been revealed by the makers. The team had released a poster a couple of months ago in which they had announced that the film and television premiere will happen in July, 2023. After a long delay, the film has finally made its imprint on OTT.

The plot of Maayon
Maayon revolves around a bunch of archaeologists , who are on a mission to unearth the treasure hidden in an ancient temple located in Maayon hill. What's interesting is that no one is allowed inside the temple after 6pm in the evening for reasons unknown. As the archaeologists try to crack the mystery of the 5,000 year-old temple, they are faced with one major challenge after the other, which also poses a threat to their lives.
The star cast comprises Radha Ravi, KS Ravikumar, Bagavathi Perumal, Hareesh Peradi and Aarash Shah. While maestro Ilaiyaraaja has scored the music, C Ramprasad has handled the cinematography and Ram Pandian & Kondalaro have handled the editing.
