The film is directed by Madonne Ashwin and has Aditi Shankar as the leading lady
The third single from Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran is finally here! The heart-rending number is sung by the film's music composer Bharath Shankar himself with a special rendition by Vaikom Vijayalakshmi titled Manikuyile. With acoustic guitar by Keba Jeremiah and electric guitar by Prashanth Mohanasundaram, this mellifluous number tugs at your heart.
The video also dropped a glimpse of the recording session. Lyrics for the songs are by Yugabharathi. Going by the video, it looks like the song is about introspection and the dynamics between a mother and son, with the mother's role played by Saritha and Sivakarthikeyan as the son.

It was only yesterday that the film was censored with U/A certificate. The film will also be released in Telugu as Mahaveerudu. The trailer of the film was launched a few days ago and going by the same, Sivakarthikeyan seems to play a cartoonist, whose drawings and sketches come true in real life. While the actor is a timid person in real life, everytime a fictional character comes true, he becomes a different person altogether.
The film has Aditi Shankar playing Sivakarthikeyan's colleague, and Mysskin as the prime antagonist. The trailer has already won the hearts of many and has already clocked more than 6 million views.
Cinematography for the film is by Vidhu Ayyanna and editing by Philomin. Art direction is by Raj Kumar Gangappan and Arun Venjaramoodu, and stunt choreography by Yannick Ben. Arun Viswa of Shanthi Talkies is bankrolling the project and Maaveeran is all set to drop in theatres worldwide on July 14.
The digital rights of the film have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video. Since Sivakarthikeyan's last release, Prince failed to set the cash registers ringing, a lot is riding on this film. This is Madonne Ashwin's next after the National Award-winning venture, Mandela, and his maiden collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan.
