Maaveeran first review: Sivakarthikeyan's superhero movie gets big thumbs up

Maaveeran has managed to build up quite a hype among the fans of Tamil cinema as it promises to showcase Sivakarthikeyan in a new dimension. He's said to be playing the role of a superhero in the movie, which is written and directed by Madonne Ashwin of Madela fame. As the film is getting ready to hit the screens this Friday, it has already started getting good reactions from celebrities.

Producer and distributor Udhayanidhi Stalin has given two big thumbs up to Maaveeran on his Twitter page. However, he didn't share more comments about what he thought of the movie.

Udhayanidhi is the founder of Red Giant Movies, which is distributing Maaveeran in Tamil Nadu. And a special screening was arranged for Udhayanidhi ahead of the film's release.

Udhayanidhi himself is basking in the success of Maamannan. The film is said to be his last film as an actor as he will now devote his full time to pursuing his duties as a minister in the Tamil Nadu government. Written and directed by Mari Selvaraj, Maamannan was both a critical and commercial success, marking a memorable end to his short but successful stint in movies.

Sivakarthikeyan is very confident of scoring a hit with Maaveeran. And he was also involved in an extensive promotional tour across the country. The trailer showed that Sivakarthyean plays the role of a cartoon artist, who is extremely afraid of confrontation. However, a voice from the heavens awakesn a hero in him to take on the corrupt men sitting in positions of power.

Besides Sivakarthikeyan, the film also stars Aditi Shankar, Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Sunil, Saritha and Monisha Blessy.
