With just a few more days to go for the release of Mari Selvaraj's Maamannan, the promotions for the film are in full swing. Meanwhile, the film's director has taken to his social media handle to thank Ulagayanagan Kamal Haasan, who was the chief guest at the Maamannan audio launch for a reason.

Taking to his social media handle, Mari Selvaraj wrote, "The moment when the questions that were raised within my emotional reality were answered with love and blessings by the one and only 'Ulaganayagan' @ikamalhaasan sir who took the stage for us means a lot! This will always stay in my heart for I will keep cherishing it (sic)!

During the event, Kamal Haasan had stated that he had watched Maamannan and he believed that this was a film that had to win. "The voice in this film needs to be heard. It's not only Mari Selvaraj's voice, but the clamour of many who have not been heard until now. Brother Udhayanidhi Stalin called Maamannan, Mari Selvaraj's politics. It's not only his but our politics as well. We are at a time when we need to decide the way forward for the nation. And for that, we need films like Maamannan."

He added," The one thing that I liked about Mari Selvaraj right from Pariyerum Perumal is that he doesn't pinpoint an opposition side, but represents reality as it is. Even when showing the opposite side, you give it a balanced voice. When you are angry, that doesn't come easily. The fact that you have decided to balance the scenes shows that you are a balanced person yourself. That's very important. The success of this film will prove the taste, quality and benchmark of Tamil cinema fans."

Maamannan is gearing up to hit screens on June 29 and the film is said to be the last cinematic outing of Udhayanidhi Stalin as an actor.
