The makers of Lucky Man had struck a 30-day deal with the streaming platform well ahead of the theatrical release
Puneeth and Sadhu Kokila in a still from the film
Nagendra Prasad's directorial debut Lucky Man opened in theatres on September 9 to encouraging reviews with many thronging cinema halls to catch Puneeth Rajkumar in his final outing as an actor. Fittingly, the late actor played the role of God in the film and fans were able to not only witness the Powerstar in all his glory but also watch him dish out one comical punch line after another. Ably supported by Darling Krishna and Sadhu Kokila, Puneeth Rajkumar showcased his chirpy side in Lucky Man to the delight of his many million ardent fans.
And now, following the theatrical run, Lucky Man is all set to debut on OTT and as per the latest updates, the comedy-drama will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 7. The team unveiled a special poster to make this announcement.
In his previous chat with OTTplay, Lucky Man's main lead Darling Krishna shared that the makers had struck a 30-day deal with Amazon Prime Video well ahead of the theatrical release of the film. He added that although the film was ready to be out in theatres in May of 2022, the 30-day deal would have meant that the OTT premiere would coincide with that of K.G.F: Chapter 2 and the makers had to be prudent in that regard. Lucky Man was eventually released in cinema halls on September 9.
Directed by choreographer-actor Nagendra Prasad, Lucky Man is the official remake of the 2020 Tamil hit Oh My Kadavule. The film follows Arjun Nagappa (Darling Krishna) whose on-the-spur decision to marry his best friend Anu comes off completely mistimed and before he realises, the two find themselves in a courtroom seeking a divorce. However, the situation is intervened by God himself who gives Arjun the golden ticket to turn the clock back one year and fix his life if possible. Can Arjun make the best of this golden opportunity?
Lucky Man also stars Sangeetha Sringeri, Roshni Prakash, Nagabhushana, Rangayana Raghu, and others.
Aside from Puneeth Rajkumar's endearing special appearance in the film, Lucky Man also features a special dance number comprising both the Powerstar and dance maestro Prabhudeva. Lucky Man is Appu's final on-screen appearance as an actor but he will soon be seen as himself in the docudrama Gandhada Gudi.
