Mathew Thomas, Lovely
Mathew Thomas is set to star in an upcoming Malayalam film, titled Lovely. The makers have now announced that the film is set to have a summer release, with the exact date being April 4, 2025. Lovely is helmed by Dileesh Karunakaran (who was earlier known as Dileesh Nair). Here’s all you need to know about the Mathew Thomas-starrer.
Lovely, billed as a fantasy comedy-drama, will be headlined by Mathew Thomas and will reportedly revolve around a housefly. While announcing the release date, the makers released a poster of Lovely that featured a housefly on a neon pink background. They wrote in the caption - “Lovely starts flying from April 4th. Along with Mathew Thomas, Lovely will feature Manoj K Jayan in a key role along with Radhika of Appan fame, KPAC Leela, Prashanth Murali, Ganga Meera and Ashwathy Manoharan as part of the cast.
The film is directed by Dileesh Karunakaran (who was earlier known as Dileesh Nair). Lovely would mark Dileesh’s return to the director’s chair after his debut directorial Tamaar Padaar in 2014 that featured Baburaj and Chemban Vinod Jose in lead roles. Dileesh along with Syam Pushkaran had also jointly written the script for Aashiq Abu’s Salt N' Pepper.
Lovely once again saw Dileesh collaborating with Aashiq Abu, who has served as the cinematographer for the film. Aashiq Abu was also the cinematographer for his directorial film Rifle Club, which was a Christmas 2024 release. Though Rifle Club released first, Lovely was the film that marked his debut as a cinematographer.
