'Love Wins All' - After controversy over song title featuring BTS' V, singer IU releases new poster

In response to the concerns, IU and her agency, EDAM Entertainment, have taken steps to address the issue and, on January 19, released a statement.

Singer IU, who had initially revealed the main poster for her upcoming song "Love Wins" featuring BTS' Kim Taehyung aka V generated excitement among fans but also faced criticism from the LGBTQIA community due to the song's title. The controversy arose as individuals within the community expressed concerns about the use of the phrase "Love Wins."

This slogan is said to have significant meaning within pride parades and movements for sexual minorities, and some worries using the title in the context of general heterosexual content might dilute its original and powerful message.

In response to the concerns, IU and her agency EDAM Entertainment have taken steps to address the issue and on January 19, released a statement saying, "We decided to change the title to respect and support everyone who loves in their various ways, and we accept the opinions of those who express concerns that precious message might be blurred due to the title".

The statement went on to add, "If there is one single thing that is exactly opposite to the message would be the word 'hatred,' which was mentioned in detail in the track which was released on January 18th. We deeply hope that the original message of the song is delivered without leaving any scars on anyone, as every love wins all in the world with no hatred".

Following the controversy, IU and her agency responded by unveiling a new poster, and the song's title has been revised to "Love Wins All."

Netizens too took to social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter) to appreciate the singer for respecting everyone and the efforts taken to change the song title.

IU's upcoming song, "Love Wins All," is set to be released on major music platforms on January 24 at 6 PM KST. This release marks IU's return to the music scene after approximately two years and one month, with her last release being 'Piece of Pieces' in December 2021.
