The Holiday season will soon kickstart and Netflix like every year will be dropping special, warm and fuzzy titles to entertain the fans to the fullest. Among the first fall special movie to be announced by the streaming platform is Love Hard. The rom-com features an ensemble cast including Nina Dobrev, Jimmy O. Yang and Darren Barnet. Love Hard has got a release date and will stream on Netflix from November 5, 2021.
Darren took to his Instagram page and shared a few first look stills from the film and it screams perfection in the Holiday special genre. The actor wrote, "Tis the season to #LOVEHARD! Cannot wait for you to catch our romantic Christmas comedy only on @netflix on November 5th! @netflixfilm @nina @funnyasiandude."
The premise of Love Hard is described by Netflix as "An LA girl, unlucky in love, falls for an East Coast guy on a dating app and decides to surprise him for the holidays, only to discover that she’s been catfished. This lighthearted romantic comedy chronicles her attempt to reel in love."
This marks Darren's second film after he played the lead in American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules which hit the screens last year. The actor became a household name with his role as Paxton Hall-Yoshida in the Netflix series Never Have I Ever.
Talking about Nina, her last outing was the series Fam and she was also featured in the film titled Run This Town. The actor had become a household name with her role as Elena Gilbert aka Katherine Pierce aka Amara in The Vampire Diaries. The actor played the hit role mainly from 2009 to 2015.
Meanwhile, Love Hard is directed by Hernán Jiménez whereas Danny Mackey and Rebecca Ewing have penned the script. The film has been extensively shot in Vancouver in Canada.
