Alia Bhatt Begins Shooting For Love And War - Reports

One of the biggest films to be coming out of Indian cinema in the next two years has to be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next, titled Love & War. The movie, mounted on a massive budget, is a starry affair in every possible sense. Over the past few months, we have heard a lot about the movie, with plenty to know about the same—the change in release date, the new looks sported by co-stars Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor that made headlines, updates on the sets being erected in the city, and more. It turns out that these very sets have now welcomed their leading lady, as Alia Bhatt has started shooting for the movie in Mumbai and will be working exclusively on the Bhansali film for the next year.

Alia Bhatt Begins Shooting for Love & War

For the unversed, Love & War stars Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, and Ranbir Kapoor in leading roles, and is said to be a love triangle—a genre Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a master of. The film is reportedly featuring a massive ensemble cast, though earlier reports suggesting it was a remake of Sangam were ruled out by Bhansali himself, who called the news false. Now, production on the movie has begun in full swing, and Alia Bhatt has officially joined the team. There is also a big superstar cameo in the works.

As per Pinkvilla sources, Alia started shooting for Love & War on November 19. “Yesterday was the first day of the shoot for Alia Bhatt, and she has commenced the journey by canning her solo sequences. The combination sequences with Ranbir and Vicky will begin at the end of November,” said the insider. The source also revealed that Alia has allotted bulk dates for Love & War and will not be shooting for any other movie until November 2025.

Ranbir Kapoor will be juggling between Love & War and Ramayana Part 1 while Vicky Kaushal is fully dedicated to the Bhansali film. It is the first time Kaushal will be starring in an SLB film, while both Ranbir and Alia have previously worked with the filmmaker on one film each. The shooting for Love & War is expected to continue for the next year, with SLB planning to wrap up the movie by October 2025.

The report also mentioned a big superstar cameo being planned for the movie, though there is no clarity on who will play the part. However, several acclaimed actors are joining the cast to portray key characters in the film. Love & War is set to release on Eid 2026.
