London Files: Arjun Rampal discusses his character and how it affected him a ‘lot more’ than expected

Arjun Rampal, who is preparing for the debut of his next thriller series, London Files, recently discussed his character Om Singh, a murder investigator who takes on the case of a missing person in London's politically divided metropolis.

Arjun described Om Singh as “someone who stays with you, he is real, flawed, hurt and alone.” The actor told news agency IANS that his character's journey has affected him more personally than he had expected.

He also spoke about emulating a homicide detective on screen and how he “automatically became a skeptic.”

"You have no faith in anyone. You distance yourself from the situation, conduct study, and look at things rationally rather than emotionally. It can also be beneficial in real life ", the actor concluded.

A trailer for the series was released yesterday and features Arjun in a completely different avatar. Though the actor has played gritty roles in the past, here he plays someone who is dealing with hallucinations all the while taking up different, complex cases. The trailer also shows him heading a high profile investigation in a politically divided and criminally rife London.

Sachin Pathak has directed London Files, which also stars Puran Kohli, Medha Rana, Sapna Pabbi, Gopal Datt, and others.

The series, which is backed by Jar Pictures, marks Arjun and Purab’s onscreen reunion after Rock On!

London Files will premiere on Voot Select on April 21.
