Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has remained tight-lipped about whether his upcoming movie Leo , starring Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). The LCU is a term used to describe a collection of films directed by Lokesh that share a common universe and characters.

When asked directly if Leo was part of the LCU, Kanagaraj refused to provide a clear answer, stating that he wanted to save some surprises for the film's release in October. "If I reveal everything now, I won't have anything to say for the next six months. So, slowly and gradually, we will reveal what's there and what's not there in the film. You will also ask Trisha the same question, and even she won't say anything," said Lokesh at an award function in Chennai.

Trisha is playing the female lead in Leo. The film marks her onscreen reunion with Vijay after a gap of 14 years.

Lokesh's LCU began with Kaithi, a movie about a convicted felon, who comes to the rescue of the police force when a massive drug bust goes horribly wrong. Lokesh expanded that universe with Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role. Vikram shattered several box office records, raking in nearly Rs 500 crore from its worldwide ticket sales. And the success of Lokesh's previous movies has naturally created quite a hype for Leo.

Despite Kanagaraj's reluctance to provide details, fans have already begun speculating about Leo's potential links to the LCU . Some have suggested that the film's plot has connections with events that happened in Kaithi and Vikram.

Leo features a star-studded cast, including Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy Master and Mathew Thomas among others.
