Logan Lucky On OTT
It turns out the world of cinema is about to get a second round of adrenaline rush because a road film is about to get a re-release on streaming. The genres of race and heist are two very prominent ones in world cinema, and what if there is a movie that blends both of them? Yes, in 2017, director Steven Soderbergh decided to bring together some of the most appealing actors and make a movie that was about the NASCAR race in North Carolina but also involved a heist. Yes, you read that right; we are indeed talking about Logan Lucky. A movie that was released on the big screen in 2017 was one of the most celebrated movies of that year. It dropped on streaming soon after and took the world by storm, but it has been MIA from the streaming world for a while now.
But it turns out that is about to change because Logan Lucky is all set to enjoy a second round on the streaming circle, and there is a lot in store for fans of the actors involved who have not seen the film. The movie is set to make its way to Lionsgate Play. The streamer has been invested in bringing stories from across the world to their platform, even if it means re-releasing an old film for the audience. Most recently, the platform has released Replicas, The Iron Claw, Mona Lisa the Blood Moon, and many more. Logan Lucky now joins the list. Below is everything you should know about it.
Starring Adam Driver, Channing Tatum, Daniel Craig, Riley Keough, and an ensemble cast, the movie has now been added to the "coming soon" list on Lionsgate Play. It sits alongside Nicolas Cage's Arcadian, Brie Larson’s Room, and Mandy Moore’s Dr. Death Season 2. All these are in the pipeline for the month of July. The platform has yet to confirm the release date for Logan Lucky. But one thing is sure, you are about to be pulled into the world of Logan Lucky.
Logan Lucky stars Adam Driver as Clyde, a very pivotal character. The actor has a prosthetic arm in the film. Talking about the same to the Independent, he said, “There were a lot of different versions of it. When it was just the outsized hand, then it was my hand underneath it, and they had to take a cast—everything is hard plastic on top, then a latex hand that they put on top that you just have to pretend is solid.”
“Then there’s another for the actual arm when I take it off; they have a green sleeve, which I wear all the way up to my shoulder and then there’s a prosthetic that bends at the elbow that extends from where my elbow would be because he’s a transradial amputee. So it’s like a green sock, then a sleeve that goes over that’s like a prosthetic. You have to act with this big tumour-feeling thing hanging out,” Adam Driver added.
Logan Lucky will soon be released on Lionsgate Play and you can watch it with your OTTplay Premium subscription too.
