A still from the video review
Lock Upp has become one of the most successful reality shows in its first few weeks. According to the latest video by the makers, the Kangana Ranaut-led show is on top of all OTT content. Though millions of viewers are loving and following the show religiously, Lock Upp has also been receiving a few mixed reviews from critics. Recently, the Indian comedian Kunal Kamra reviewed a few episodes of MX Player's reality series and called it to cringe content.
The comedian shared the review on his YouTube channel, where he can be seen reviewing the show and simultaneously giving his comments in a video. The video begins with Kunal watching the premiere episode, where he mentions, "Cringe reality shows are back. I think the pandemic is officially over." Moving on he adds that this show should not have a 'skip intro' but a 'skip reality' button.
He further says, "I think Kangana is training in this show to become a dictator. Let's see how many times she talks about herself and compliments herself during the show's intro." The comedian counts how many times did the Queen actress admired herself in the premiere episode.
Moving on Kunal adds, "Kangana Ranaut is a female Arnab that nobody asked for. Actually, nobody asked for Arnab also." After the entry of Munawar Faruqui, the reviewer cheers for him and calls him brother. After watching a few clips of the contestants inside the jail, Kunal mentions, "This is the correct representation of unemployment in India. Though it looks less like a jail and more like a picnic."
In the end, he commented that it was 'not fun but fun watching Lock Upp.'
