Shaheed (1965)

Manoj Kumar's Shaheed marked his illustrious journey as the face of patriotic cinema. It is a heartfelt tribute to Bhagat Singh. The film was a box-office success and inspired Kumar to create other masterpieces. The film stars Manoj Kumar as Bhagat Singh. Set in British India in the mid-1920s, Bhagat Singh and his friends avenge the death of an innocent protester by killing Commissioner Saunders.

Upkar (1967)

The film follows Bharat giving up everything to educate his brother Puran. However, Puran turns out to be a greedy person and gets involved in drug trafficking to earn money. It is one of the most acclaimed films of Manoj Kumar and is still loved by fans. The film was inspired by Indian prime minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, who suggested that Kumar make a film based on his motto for India, "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan."

Purab Aur Pashchim (1970)

Bharat, the son of a freedom fighter, goes to England to study and tries to change the mindset of the people there towards India. In the wake of the Quit India Movement in 1942, Harnam (Pran) betrays a freedom fighter and is rewarded, but the freedom fighter is killed, leaving his wife Ganga (Kamini Kaushal) and his family devastated and destitute.

Kranti (1981)

The Indian soldiers are tasked with defending the border at all costs. The soldiers bond together after a near-death experience and share stories of life, love, and family.
