Shaheed (1965)

Upkar (1967)

The film follows Bharat giving up everything to educate his brother Puran. However, Puran turns out to be a greedy person and gets involved in drug trafficking to earn money. The film was inspired by Indian prime minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, who suggested that Kumar make a film based on his motto for India, "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan."

Purab Aur Pashchim (1970)

Bharat, the son of a freedom fighter, goes to England to study and tries to change the mindset of the people there towards India.
