The 2015 film is based on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev, the first Sikh guru. Puneet Sikka, Adil Hussain, and Arif Zakaria play the lead roles in the film which is directed by Sartaj Singh Pannu. The film won big at the 63rd National Film Awards as it took home the prizes for Best Feature Film on National Integration, Best Costume Design, and Best Make-Up Artist.

His life takes an intriguing turn when he is tasked with looking into the death of a well-known member of their village. Ammy Virk's performance lends weight to the film.
