The 18th anniversary of Fanaa is a great time to think back on the enchantment that Aamir Khan and Kajol brought to the big screen. This landmark brings to light not just Fanaa but also other legendary films starring these actors, showcasing their outstanding performances. Ishq, an action-romantic comedy directed by Indra Kumar, and Salaam Venky, a touching drama by Revathi, are two of these exceptional films. Aamir Khan and Kajol's multitalented performances in these films have left an everlasting impression on Bollywood and won over audiences with their riveting plots and memorable characters.
Indra Kumar directs the romantic action-comedy film Ishq. Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, and Juhi Chawla play lead roles, along with supporting cast members Mohan Joshi, Dalip Tahil, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, and Johnny Lever.
Harbans (Dalip Tahil) and Ranjit Rai (Sadashiv Amrapurkar), two wealthy businessmen, despise poverty. Their goal is to arrange marriages for their sons, Ajay (Ajay Devgn) and Madhu (Juhi Chawla). However, destiny has its own enigmatic ways! Ajay develops romantic feelings for the plain, poor Kajal (Kajol), while Madhu falls for the cheerful, downtrodden mechanic Raja (Aamir Khan). As soon as the dads find out about their children's affairs, they begin to sow discord among the couples and plot their separation.
Under their Yash Raj Films company, Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra produced and Kunal Kohli directed the 2006 tragedy-romantic thriller Fanaa. In addition to Aamir Khan and Kajol, the film also features Kirron Kher, Sharat Saxena, Tabu, and Rishi Kapoor in supporting roles. The story follows the love story of Zooni, a blind Kashmiri woman, and her tour guide, Rehan, who is actually a terrorist hiding in plain sight.
Aamir Khan plays Rehan Qadri, a native Delhi tour guide and unstoppable flirt, who meets Zooni (Kajol), a blind Kashmiri girl. She disregards her friends' warnings about him. Zooni fascinates Rehan, and he wishes she could see things more clearly. Little does Zooni know, Rehan possesses a duality that has the power to transform and demolish her life.
Revathi directs the 2022 slice-of-life drama Salaam Venky. The film is about a mother's resolute effort to help her son, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, completely enjoy life. Kajol and Vishal Jethwa play the key parts. Kolavennu Venkatesh and his mother, K. Sujata, are the protagonists of the film, which is adapted from Shrikanth Murthy's novel The Last Hurrah. Aamir Khan is just Sujata's delusion.
Inspired by a real-life tale, Venkatesh and Sujata question the established wisdom of medicine. Due to his degenerative illness, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Venkatesh has a very short lifespan of only sixteen years. Venkatesh stunned the medical community with his unfaltering determination and resilience in the face of insurmountable odds. By the time he is 24 years old, he has become a hero to his contemporaries. In just fifteen days, the perpetually cheerful Venkatesh wins over everyone's hearts, daring the state and the law to fulfil his dying wish of donating his organs.
