The way cartoons and animated shows specifically made for kids have almost disappeared from pop culture is very worrisome. There was a time when not just kids, but even adults were engrossed in the cartoon shows that served as our comforting haven. We learned to eat spinach from Popeye, honed our detective skills with Scooby Doo, and became better people as we played with the lovely dragons in Dragonland. However, the way these shows have become relics of the past is not just troubling but deeply alarming. Modern cartoons focus more on humor and less on the values that the old ones imparted to us in the most enjoyable way. Powerkids Plus Kartoon is a platform that still hosts very interesting shows and movies, maintaining the innocence and values of old cartoons.

This platform, which you can access with your OTTplay Premium subscription, is one of the most undiscovered spaces in the world of digital content and deserves more attention. Here we find our Mowgli, busy doing what he does best: being one with the forest. There is Stan Lee and his team, saving the world in ways only the most imaginative minds can conceive. These animated cartoons and shows help develop a very strong imaginative power in kids. If you are a parent, or about to become one, we thought of dedicating this weekend to you and showing you how the content is still beneficial for your toddlers if you scratch the surface a bit.

So today, we recommend some shows and movies from the Powerkids Plus Kartoon platform as we explore it with our OTTplay Premium subscription. We thought we’d introduce these three first:

Jungle Book Season 1 (2020)

There can be nothing more fun for kids than discovering the legendary world of Mowgli. This freshly animated version of the age-old tale is interactive and crafted with modern sensibilities in mind. Of course, no one can recreate the magic that Vishal Bhardwaj and Gulzar Sahab did with the yesteryear version of the IP, but the 2020 version is still worthy of your attention.

Peter Pan Neverland Prophecy (2016)

The way Peter Pan transports us to worlds far beyond our imaginations is a case study in itself, one that should be left untouched because we don't want that magic to fade. When he decides to take a tour to Neverland and unfold a prophecy, it all leads to an adventure we have always loved. The cartoon is an iconic IP that has seen decades of stories told from different perspectives. This version offers a fresh take.

Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 (2014)

Imagine Stan Lee as a Nick Fury figure in a story where seven aliens fall to Earth. The movie follows this trajectory as a special force hunts for the scene-stealing aliens who have been hidden by Lee in his Malibu farmhouse. A few days later, an alien enemy attacks Earth and threatens to destroy it. Stan Lee takes charge, trains the seven aliens to be superheroes, and defeats the villain, saving the day. This is Marvel before Marvel was cool.

You can watch all these shows on Powerkids Plus Kartoon, available with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
