Vijay and Trisha’s film Ghilli re-released in theatres once again to celebrate 20 years since its first release. Directed by Dharani, the film attracted scores of audiences to theatres, which have been facing a lull with recent Tamil releases. The director, who is known for making commercially hit films, has worked in a handful of Tamil films. Here are three Dharani directorials that you can stream on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium.
Dhill is an action-drama film which released in 2001. The film, directed by Dharani, stars actors Vikram, Laila, Ashish Vidyarthi, Nassar, Vivek and others. A true-blue commercial film, Dhill is about Kanagavel, an aspiring police officer who gets into trouble after his girlfriend is harassed by a man. It is later found out that the man is a corrupt police officer who takes revenge on Kanagavel and his career pursuit. The film has dialogues by Bharathan and was remade in Telugu as Sreeram, in Hindi as Dum, Kannada as Sye, Bengali Kolkata as Shotrur Makabila, and in Bengali Bangladesh as Arman.

Dharani paired up with Vikram for the second time in 2003 for Dhool. The cast of the film includes Vikram, Jyothika, Reema Sen, Vivek, Sayaji Shinde, Telangana Shakuntala, and Pasupathy, among others. The film revolves around a man along with a couple of villagers who travel to Chennai in order to meet the government officers and discuss the issues that plague their native. The film, which has comic relief, romance and action, was a commercial success. It was subsequently made in Telugu as Veede and in Sinhala as Ranja. Vidyasagar composed the songs for the film.

Osthe released in 2011 and is an action drama starring Silambarasan in the lead role. It is the remake of hit Hindi film Dabangg which starred Salman Khan as the protagonist. Osthe centres around an uptight police officer who has bitter relationships with his stepfather and half-brother on one hand, while he also has to take down a corrupt politician. Richa Gangopadhyay, Revathi, Santhanam, Jithan Ramesh, VTV Ganesh, Sonu Sood, and others play prominent parts in the film. Thaman had scored the music for the film, with Bharathan writing the dialogues once again.
