Originals have their own appeal, regardless of how well remakes do. Whether it's the story, the cinematography, the direction, or even the actors’ performances, everything seems fresh in Vash. Gujarati films have been making their presence felt at the national and international levels recently, making Vash a must-watch.
The journey of a devoted husband and father takes centre stage in Vash. Usually, films highlight mothers' love, but Vash is about a father's love and contributions. It delves deep into how a man tackles horrifying events and a sinister stranger all alone to save his family. It also interestingly shows that society expects a man to be a shield, but forgets that they can also be scared and anxious, which can affect their mental and physical health.
Although all the actors in Vash have done an excellent job, the performances of Hiten Kumar as Pratap, Janaki Bodiwale as Aarya, and Hitu Kanodia as Atharva are standouts. Atharva's desperate attempt to rescue his daughter Aarya from Pratap is one to watch. Although Niilam Paanchal’s role was not lengthy, her as a mother is worth noting.
It was reported that Ajay Devgn tried to stop the OTT and YouTube releases of Vash last year. This was so that audiences would watch Shaitaan first in theatres and later Vash online, so that Shaitaan could do well at the box office. But the makers of the Gujarati movie struck a deal with Shemaroo and earned the right to release their film on OTT. Aren't you curious to see what Ajay Devgn wanted to keep hidden? We sure are!
