Disconnected

Directed by Suhail Tatari, this 21 minutes short film has suspense, drama and family and blends it all beautifully. The film is a story about a family that seems perfect from the outside, but is more disconnected than meets the eye. Connecting to the social media culture where people seek validation from strangers, this short film could hit you where it hurts.

White Shirt

Starring Kritika Kamra and Kunal Kapoor and helmed by Sumit Aroraa, White Shirt takes the viewers on a ride as a fly on the wall, watching as a relationship slowly crumbles away in front of our eyes. With solid performances from the two leads, this short film is for anyone who loves a realistic drama.

The Lovers

Featuring Anuraag Malhan, Shweta Basu Prasad, Zarina Wahab, and Malti Chahar among others, this drama follows Anirudh, whose life changes after his wife files a case of domestic abuse against him. Written & directed by Preeti Singh, the film looks at how the dowry law can be misused.

Ouch

A short dark comedy from Neeray Pandey, Ouch stars Manoj Bajpayee and Pooja Chopra as lovers who have secretly been in a relationship behind their spouses’ backs. As they try to take their relationship to the next step, things take an awkward turn which becomes refreshing to see thanks to the performances of the leads.

Rogan Josh

Sanjeev Vig’s Rogan Josh stars Naseeruddin Shah and Avantika Akerkar in the lead. Set with one of India’s darkest days at heart, the film is about a man making dinner to celebrate his 65th birthday. With a twist towards the end and a punch in the gut, this film is one not to be missed.

Siblings

Sheetal Menon’s family drama stars Shivani Tanksale and Sheetal Menon as sisters, and they both deliver great performances. The film revolves around the sisters who have their own problems to deal with, but also have to take care of their father who is in a coma. When emotions reach boiling point, this film truly delivers.

Nitishastra

Taapsee Pannu plays a self defense instructor in this short film, and she plays it to a T. While wanting to equip every young girl to defend themselves, she soon has to make an important decision after her brother (Vicky Arora) commits a crime.

Chhuri

Tisca Chopra (Meera) finally decides to confront her husband (Anurag Kashyap) and his lover played by Surveen Chawla. The film is fun, refreshing and is bound to have you smiling in the end.

Carbon

If you are looking for a different setting, Carbon is the short film to go for. Set in a dystopian future, the country has a shortage of water and oxygen and an abundance of carbon. The film stars Jackky Bhagnani, Prachi Desai, Yashpal Sharma and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

The School Bag

Set in Peshawar, Pakistan, this short film tells a beautiful story of a mother-son relationship. The young boy wants nothing more than to meet his father, but the mother knows that he left them for another woman. The setting, the story and the mannerisms make this film a special one and a must watch.
