After a four-year hiatus, director Lingusamy has returned to filmmaking with The Warriorr which went on floors a while ago. Ram Pothineni and Krithi Shetty are making their Tamil debut with this bilingual flick which has been produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under the banner of Srinivasa Silver Screen.
The film's teaser was unveiled earlier this month in Tamil and Telugu. Ram plays Satya, Deputy Superintendent of Police, while Krithi essays the role of a radio jockey. How a dedicated cop takes on a dreaded goon, played by Aadhi Pinisetty, forms the crux of the story.
The team has now announced that they have wrapped up the movie's shooting. The Warriorr will be released in both the languages simultaneously on July 14. Sujith Vassudev and Navin Nooli have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the project which has music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. This is the first time Lingusamy and DSP have come together.
The Bullet Song, which has Silambarasan lending voice for it, turned out to be a chartbuster track. Akshara Gowda, Nadhiya Moidu and Redin Kingsley will be seen essaying notable roles in the film. The movie has Aadhi essaying an antagonist's role for the second time after Allu Arjun's Sarrainodu.
Lingusamy's last outing was Vishal-starrer Sandakozhi (streaming on Jio Cinema and Sun NXT) which was released in 2018. Ram was last seen in Red (streaming on Netflix and Jio Cinema) which was released in 2021.
Meanwhile, Krithi Shetty has bagged another project in Tamil. She has been roped in to play the female lead in Suriya's ongoing film which has Bala at its helm. Despite rumours of the movie shelved, Suriya clarified a couple of days ago that the film is on and that he is enjoying shooting for the project.
