The latest episode begins with another flashback scene. However, this one was quite heartwarming, as Do-sik came to Baek-do's at 4 am just to see him for the last time. The kids have a touching conversation about the school picnic while Do-sik hides her emotions and cries. The flashback quickly shifts to the present day, where Do-sik is narrating her past life to co-investigator Hyeon-uk and accepting her identity. One of the key revelations in the story is that Do-sik's father was the head coach of the Ssireum team. Their happy lives hit a drastic turning point when he was wrongfully accused of match-fixing with a student, who happened to end his life out of shame.
Meanwhile, Do-sik's family was brutally shunned out of the town as the false truth came to light. The cafe owner, Mi Ran, also shares a secret past with Do-sik and her character holds a key to several hidden truths. This episode also featured Ssireum matches between Bakek-do and his rival teams and he happens to crush everyone after following Do-sik's advice and motivation. Baek-do also held the fort of his town's dignity as the other teammates couldn't participate in the games as they fell ill after eating sea food, except Baek-do, who luckily skipped his meal.

It also showcased Baek-do in his sports champion form for the first time as he won back-to-back matches. The cafe owner’s mystery is finally revealed in this episode and sets the story rolling for the upcoming episodes, which highlights why Do-sik had to abruptly leave town and what was the mystery that shrouded her family’s misfortune.
