The popular game Like A Dragon is adapted into a live-action series. The J-Drama, by the name of Like A Dragon: Yakuza, is scheduled for an OTT release soon. But did you know that the show is set in two time periods? From plot to how the series is different from the game, here's everything you wanted to know about the upcoming series...

Like A Dragon: Yakuza plot

A gangster-drama, Like A Dragon: Yakuza is about the biggest conflict between Kazuma Kiryu (Ryoma Takeuchi) and his childhood friend Akira Nishikiyama (Kento Kaku), who is now his biggest enemy.

Kiryu was taken aback after watching a fighter with the dragon tattoo on his back. Thus, he grew up to become a fighter and a gangster (Yakuza) in the process despite warnings against taking up the life of a Yakuza. The gangsters are not the only thing to fear. There's a masked man who has caused panic in town, and Kazuma has a lot more to deal with, since he is the man with the dragon tattoo on his back, which in his head, means taking on a lot of responsibility.

Apart from Ryoma and Kento, Munetaka Aoki, Toshiaki Karasawa, Masaya Kato, Yumi Kawai, Misato Morita, Koichi Sato, Hinano Nakayama, Saki Takaoka and Ryudi Uzaki are a part of the series.

How is Like A Dragon: Yakuza different from the video game?

The series shifts its focus to the bond between Kiryu and Nishiki, which is different from the original game. The makers are almost certain that the emotions attached to their characters will connect with the people.
