Former boxer Mike Tyson will soon make his Bollywood debut with Dharma Productions’ sports film Liger led by Vijay Deverakonda.
Tyson’s casting announcement was made in September, and today the production banner shared pictures of him on set with the film’s cast and crew.
A first look character poster was released earlier this month on Diwali that featured a menacing Tyson with a flaming fist.
In a series of photos, Tyson is seen sharing a few laughs and posing with Ananya Panday, Deverakonda, producer Charmme Kaur and director Puri Jagganadh.
Here is the post:
According to The News Minute the Liger team has begun the US shoot schedule. It is reported that several other foreign fighters will also feature in the film, which is a story about a mix martial arts fighter.
Tyson has previously featured in The Hangover and The Hangover Part II. He has also been a part of Hong Kong martial arts film Ip Man 3.
Liger which was previously titled Fighter, is Deverakonda’s Hindi debut. It will also be released in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil.
Karan Johar, Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar are producing via Dharma, and Jagannadh under the banner Puri Connects.
It was speculated whether the film will have a direct-to-digital release or a traditional theatrical one. The makers had been reportedly offered Rs 200 crores for an OTT premiere. When asked about the same, Deverakonda had said "Too little. I'll do more in the theatres."
