Liger actor Vijay Deverakonda has a unique way to watch his films without being recognised; Here’s how

The actor revealed how he had watched his 2017 film Dear Comrade without being recognised by any of his fans.

Vijay Deverakonda is gearing up for the release of his pan Indian film, Liger, which will see the star take on the role of an MMA fighter. The star seems to have devised a unique way to experience his films in theatres along with fans, and still not be recognised.

In conversation with Galatta Plus, the actor said that he makes use of a burqa to go watch his films in theatres, and is able to sit amongst his fans without being recognised. “If you see a burqa-clad tall person around you, it could probably be me”, he joked.

The actor revealed that he had watched his 2017 film, Dear Comrade, which also starred Rashmika Mandanna, that way. He recalled how he had seen fans cheering for a confrontational sequence, but which ended up going into a dialogue-heavy scene instead. Vijay spoke of how the viewers saw and perceived him differently than he did himself. “I need to give them that moment to just let out and cheer and enjoy and not burden with like severe emotions”, he added.

Ananya Panday stars as the female lead in Liger, which also features Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Ali, and Makarand Deshpande in prominent roles. Liger also features an extended cameo from Mike Tyson in his Indian cinema debut. The film also marks Vijay’s Bollywood debut as well as Ananya’s debut in South Indian cinema.

The film, written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, was bankrolled by him along with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Charmme Kaur under the banner of Puri Connects with Dharma Productions.

Liger will hit the big screens on August 25, in the languages of Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil.
