The upcoming horror-thriller of Kavin, Lift has been in the works for over a year and was all set to have its theatrical release in October. However, a dispute erupted between the production houses of the movie, Libra Productions and Ekaa Entertainment, leading to their split. They are now disputing over the rights of the movie.

Both the production houses earlier took to social media to put up press notes announcing their split, where each is claiming to own the rights to Lift solely. According to the claims of Ekaa Entertainment, Libra Productions had created a breach in the agreement between the two.

In response to these allegations, C Ravindran of Libra Productions stated that they solely own the theatrical rights to Lift and even assured its October release in theatres. They claimed to have paid half the dues to Ekaa Entertainment and the rest of the payment will be done upon the movie’s release. They further claimed that the producers of Ekaa did not pay any heed when they reached out to them. The producers of Libra also filed a complaint against Ekaa at the Tamil Film Producers Council.

Talking about the movie, Lift starring Kavin and Amritha Aiyer was recently cleared by the CBFC Board with a U/A Certificate. The movie has been in production for more than a year. Fans are disheartened to hear the dispute between the producers, which has caused a derail in the movie’s release.
