Vijay in Leo

The much-anticipated trailer of Leo is here. Film buffs have been curious about the movie's connection with director Lokesh's previous outings ever since the project was announced. Going by the 2.45-minute promo video, it is unlikely to have a connection with Vikram and Kaithi.

However, fans are hopeful that the filmmaker will have ample surprises in store for them. The film's story begins with the conflict between a cop and a psycho killer, essayed by Gautham Menon and Sandy respectively. The issue escalates after which a family man, whose life revolves around his wife and daughter, bears the brunt of violence unleashed by a gang of goons.

Vijay in dual roles in Leo

The makers have hinted at Vijay playing dual roles in the film. While one of the characters is a family man, the other one has a mystery element surrounding him. The team hasn't revealed many details of the second character as it involves a few suspense elements.

The roles essayed by Sanjay Dutt and Arjun are also kept under wraps. Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan and Mathew are seen in the trailer which suffers from below-par VFX. The action scenes are likely to bring the house down and Manoj Paramahamsa's visuals are expected to impress the viewers.

A never-before-seen Vijay

Lokesh said earlier that Leo would have Vijay in a new avatar. Fans have been eager to see their matinee idol in a completely different look and mannerisms ever since the director made the announcement. The trailer has the star mouthing a cuss word which his fans wouldn't have expected.

This is also likely to be his most violent movie. Though he enjoys a huge fan base among children and family audiences, Lokesh is said to have made Leo a director's project.
