The biggest Kollywood project now in terms of hype is undoubtedly Leo which has been helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The Vijay-starrer gangster drama is releasing on October 19 and its theatrical rights have been sold for sensational amounts in several territories.

Lokesh officially announced a few weeks ago that Vijay has wrapped up shooting for the movie. The team is currently busy with its post-production works even as fans are awaiting another update. The first look poster and first single were unveiled on June 22, on the occasion of Vijay's birthday.

Lokesh revealed recently that the second single from the movie would be an unusual number. Despite film buffs not being sure of the project being part of the universe the director created in his previous outing Vikram, the craze surrounding Leo is unprecedented. More posters and stills of the film are likely to be out in the next month.

The trade is eagerly looking forward to the numbers the film will bring to the table. It is getting released in four languages and the movie does not have any threat in the form of other releases in Kollywood and Mollywood.

However, the film has an unavoidable clash in Tollywood as the makers of Balakrishna-starrer Bhagavanth Kesari have announced its release date as October 19. Ravi Teja's Tiger Nageswara Rao will be hitting the screens a day later, on October 20. The last festival season, too, witnessed films of Vijay and Balakrishna releasing around the same time.

While the former's Varisu was released on January 11 and its Telugu version Vaarasudu on January 14, the latter's Veera Simha Reddy hit the screens on January 12.
