Lokesh Kanagaraj's sophomore project with Vijay is achieving one milestone after the other
It looks like Lokesh Kanagaraj's latest outing Leo has already hit Rs 400 crore at the box office. And this milestone has come in a span of just four days. The film, which stars Thalapathy Vijay in the lead, released worldwide to packed theatres on October 19.
Leo achieves a rare feat
Film PRO Riaz Ahmed wrote on his social media handle that Leo is the first Tamil film to be reported on the Global Comscore website. Comscore is an analytics company which lists the global and international box office estimates. Leo has found a place in it along with films like Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, The Creator and Only the river flows to name a few. Going by the list, Vijay's action entertainer has been listed along with Leonardo Dicaprio film and Taylor Swift's The Eras tour. This is considered a huge achievement for a Tamil film.
An ensemble star cast
The film brought together the hit pair of the 2000s, Trisha and Vijay, after a span of 14 long years. The last time the duo teamed up together was for Kuruvi (2008), after working in the films Ghilli, Thirupaachi and Adhi. The supporting cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Mysskin, Sandy Master, Gautham Menon, Anurag Kashyap, Priya Anand, Mathew Thomas to name a few. The film was released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Technical crew
Leo has music by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his second collaboration with Lokesh and Vijay after their last outing Master (2021). While the cinematography is by Manoj Paramahamsa, editing is by Philomin Raj.
The film's story has been penned by Dheeraj Vaidy, Rathna Kumar and Lokesh Kanagaraj himself. Stunt choreography is by the popular brother duo Anbariv. The film is bankrolled by The Seven Screen Studio and The Route
