The ace director will be playing himself in the comedy caper
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set to be seen as an actor in RJ Balaji's upcoming film, Singapore Saloon. The ace director has made a cameo appearance and will be seen playing himself in the comedy caper. We hear that Lokesh will appear as one of the customers at a Saloon, run by RJ Balaji's character. The film is helmed by Gokul of Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame.
Lokesh launches the title and first-look poster
Lokesh Kanagaraj announces the film's title during the India vs England semifinal match in the T20 World Cup 2022 being held in Australia. He was part of the Tamil cricket commentary panel along with RJ Balaji. The duo were seen discussing the match with former cricketer S Badrinath.

First- look poster
The first-look poster featured RJ Balaji as a stylish hair stylist, donning an apron and scissors in hand. Balaji will play a stylist with many dreams.
In a recent interview, Gokul revealed that Lokesh had heard the story of his film Corona Kumar four times and was the first person to tweet about the film. He added that he had known Lokesh since his debut flick Maanagaram when Gokul himself was working in Karthi's Kaashmora.
On Lokesh Kanagaraj's cameo
Talking about Lokesh's cameo in Singapore Saloon, Gokul said, " Lokesh will appear as a celebrity in the film. The reason I chose Lokesh is because he has made stars out of many people. He added that apart from Lokesh, another star has done a cameo, which will be kept under wraps."
Shivani Rajasekar, who had appeared in Hiphop Tamizha's Anbarivu plays the leading lady of the film. Singapore Saloon was bankrolled by Vels Film International, who had earlier directed Balaji's LKG and Mookuthi Amman. Singapore Saloon is touted to hit screens in summer next year. This will be RJ Balaji's maiden release of 2024.
