Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who was promoting Vijay’s action thriller Leo in Kerala earlier today, suffered an injury during his visit to Palakkad
Vijay-starrer action thriller Leo has been running to packed theatres in Kerala. Speaking of the latest, director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who was visiting a theatre in the state earlier today as part of the film’s promotions, has suffered an injury due to the rush at the cinema hall. The incident took place at Aroma Theatre in Palakkad while Lokesh was promoting Leo - which forms part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, along with Kaithi and Vikram.
According to reports, Lokesh has suffered a leg injury. The incident also led to a lathi-charge by police personnel at the theatre premises, resulting in the cancellation of the remaining promotional events. Lokesh has stated that he would come back at a later time to attend the press meet, which was scheduled to take place in Kochi today. He also thanked the Keralites for their love and grand reception extended to him.
What did the Kerala audience think of Leo
Leo secured a decent opening weekend box office collection in India, especially in the southern states. The movie received the highest pre-booking collection in Kerala, and also the highest opening day collection at the Kerala box office.

However, the film received mixed reviews from the Kerala audience, apparently due to its second half, which is said to be not as appealing as the first half. Here, Leo was marketed as a ‘Lokesh Kanagaraj film’ rather than a typical ‘Vijay movie’ with the usual fights, dance and mannerisms of the actor.
There are reviews that stated the film was unnecessarily linked to Lokesh’s previous movies, Kaithi and Vikram. On the other hand, there are also reviews praising the film and suggesting that it’s a must-watch in the theatres, mainly for its many ‘goosebumps moments’ and unexpected twists.
Leo’s cast and crew
Trisha Krishnan plays the female lead in Leo marking her reunion with Vijay after 14 years. The film also features Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja and Anurag Kashyap in key roles. Popular Malayalam actors Madonna Sebastian and Mathew Thomas are also part of the cast.
